Jidenna – Sufi Woman x Tribe

After a bit of a hiatus from the world of music, Jidenna is back! He’s been rather quiet since dropping off his 2017 EP, Boomerang, but that all changes today. Jidenna is back with not one, but two new singles, providing us with something worth rocking with, and two new singles we wouldn’t suggest sleeping on. Jidenna serves up “Sufi Woman” and “Tribe” again showing off his talents behind the mic and his diverse sound.

“Tribe” has more of a trap-influenced sound with Jidenna going in over top of these incredibly hard-hitting drums, deep basses and some slick melodic elements that will draw you in. “Sufi Woman” is driven by an infectious instrumental that taps into Jidenna’s Nigerian/Afrobeat roots. Pushed by these energetic, rattling, addictive drums, the beat is backed by some catchy melodic elements that combine to provide one hell of an instrumental.

The artist excels on both, which we hope is just the beginning of more new music from the artist. These two are certainly worth adding to your listening rotation. No word on where these two new tracks will live, or even if Jidenna is working on a new project, but we will keep you in the know.

For now, check out the new singles, “Sufi Woman” and “Tribe” in the stream below and keep it locked here to The Culture Curators for more new music coming soon. Don’t forget to check out our weekly weekend playlist, ‘A Curation of Sound,’ which arrives every Friday.
