After a Summer of madness, one of the hottest menu items of the year is coming back! Just a few days ago, the word came down that Popeyes’ infamous chicken sandwich would soon be returning. Well, today, we get the word that it’s set to return on November 3rd. Following a crazy debut in August and selling out across the country, Popeyes has a firm date on when the sandwich will return. The company announced the November 3rd date in a statement.
Popeyes stated: “Following its debut in August and quick rise to fame, the Chicken Sandwich was a massive hit selling out nationwide — dramatically surpassing even the most optimistic sales forecasts.” According to the restaurant, the sandwich will be available in locations nationwide once restocked, with the hopes that they will be back “for good.”
Reports from later in the Summer indicated that the sandwich nearly doubled store traffic, selling nearly 1,000 per day. The date comes after the news came down that the chain had hired an additional 400 employees. This is certainly great news for folks who enjoyed the sandwich, and for those who didn’t get the chance to try one. This sandwich caused an absolute craze over the Summer, thanks in big part to a brilliant social media campaign.
