The 2020 Corvette may be one of the most anticipated vehicles set to hit the road. With a new design and a bold new look, the American icon is changing. And it seems to be changing in all the best ways. Chevrolet is back, this time unveiling a look at the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The Stingray features a mid-engine layout, also a first for the model, with a 6.2L Small Block V-8 LT2 engine. The engine cranks out 495 horsepower, also introducing an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The drivetrain is sure to be an exciting change. Especially with a transmission that offers lightning-fast shifts and excellent power transfer. The hardtop of the Stingray stows into the body of the car. The exterior was influenced by fighter jets, offering an intense and eye-catching aesthetic. The top is capable of opening at speeds of up to 30 mph in just 16 seconds. Josh Holder, Corvette program engineering manager, stated: “Our goal from the beginning was to make sure customers didn’t have to sacrifice any functionality, performance or comfort when choosing the hardtop convertible.” He added, “We managed to keep the same design theme as the coupe, as well as the exceptional storage capacity and track capability.”
