Stay Prompt | The World Clock by Masafumi Ishikawa

Time, it’s something we’d like to have more of, and it’s something we need help keeping track of. Over the years there hasn’t been a lot of change in clocks. Sure, there was the change to digital clocks, radio alarm clocks, but these days we have clocks on our phone, tablets, computers, and everywhere else; things haven’t changed a lot. Masafumi Ishikawa wanted to create something unique, changing the way we keep time, while doing so in a thoughtful, functional way.

The World Clock is a tiny design that uses a traditional circular interior and face which are then sleeved into a dodecagon shape. Each of the twelve-sides is labeled for a time zone, and thanks to some brilliant engineering, the time adjusts for different time zones whenever you flip a new zone to the top. The World Clock uses interior ball bearings which provide a functional and unique design, letting you stay on time no matter where in the world you might find yourself. The small design lets you effortlessly pack it along for any trip, though it doesn’t functional as an alarm clock. The face features a sleek and classic design, though it is missing the seconds hands.
