The 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Hatchback

The good folks over at Toyota are back. The automaker returns with a brand new iteration of the Corolla that will surely turn some heads. The Toyota Corolla has been a staple daily driver that competes with the Honda Civic and VW Golf. Today we get our first look at the 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Hatchback. This stunning and eye-catching machine features plenty of pep and a bevy of upgrades that make it a contender to the Civic Type R and Golf GTi.

The GR Corolla features 300 horsepower, a six-speed manual, variable all-wheel-drive system, and track-tuned suspension, thanks to Toyota’s Gazoo Racing team. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.3-liter cylinder that cranks out 300 horsepower and 273 lb.-ft. of torque, driving all four wheels with selectable 60/40, 50/50, or 30/70 front-rear torque splits. The car also features front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials. Toyota driver Akio Toyoda led the on-track chassis development, while other details include a reinforced frame and suspension tuning to maximize the engine and all-wheel-drive performance.

This isn’t your typical Corolla, trust us. The GR Corolla is set to launch in 2023 with Core and first-year-only Circuit Edition models. Check out the new ride in the images below and head over to Toyota to find out more. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more automotive news coming very soon.
