Austro Daimler has quite a storied history in the automotive industry. For many modern automotive fans, they may not be too familiar. Austro Daimler started as a subsidiary of the company that eventually became Mercedes-Benz in 1899. The company created its last car in 1934, though now the company has been reborn. Austro Daimler is back, returning the Austro Daimler Bergmeister ADR 630 Shooting Grand.
Sleek, sporty and modern, the Bermeister ADR 630 Shooting Grand is remarkable. The hybrid-powertrain, all-wheel-drive platform comes in a sharp two-door shooting brake silhouette. The ride is powered by an inline-six that was sourced from Mercedes-Benz, of course. This powerplant is paired with three electric motors each producing 271 horsepower, paired with a 55 kWh battery pack. This provides a mind-numbing amount of power. The car features a combined output of 1,181 horsepower with a total weight of 3,638 pounds. This equates to a 0-60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 205 MPH.
Electric-only mode provides a range 155 miles, while a total range of 620 miles which can be done in the most economical modes. There are 30 different driving modes to choose from, each one offering subtle changes to the driving experience.
The exterior is as impressive as the performance specs. The elongated, sleek front end is sporty. The striking front clip stretches back to the fenders where air vents add to its modern aesthetic. The front-hinged clip leads back to a double-bubble roof with gullwing doors, affording a unique look that we can’t seem to get enough of.
