A Contemporary Retreat | The Bear Run Cabin

The good folks over at David Coleman Architecture took to the Pacific Northwest to showcase their latest design. The Bear Run Cabin calls the dense forest of the area home, responding to the mountain landscape with a dramatic, angular design. The unique cabin is comprised of two volumes that are situated side-by-side. The structure features an angular roofline, creating a yin and yang on the slanted side of the structure. The unique exterior features a series of porches to expand the interior, seamlessly connected with the rugged landscape.

The oversized roofs protect the outdoor spaces from frequent rainfall and the summer sun. The interior is just as captivating, boasting outstanding attention to detail and use of space. The internal living spaces are occupied by a great room, bath, and sleeping loft. The home is encased in frameless glass with every room boasting unrivaled views of the North Cascades mountains. To add to its appeal, the cabin also features a studio clad in a polycarbonate skin. This space is used as an additional music room, workshop, and guest loft. The facade of the home illuminates the interior spaces while providing a unique glow for the exterior terraces at night.

Take a look at this beautiful modern cabin in the images below and learn more about the structure from David Coleman Architecture. While you’re at it, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more modern architecture and design coming very soon.
