A Modern Life | The Escultura Villas

As you can probably tell by now, we have an affinity for unique, modern architecture. Today we take a look at a unique structure situated off the coast of Northwest Africa. The Escultura Villas are located on Cabo Verde. This island archipelago is located in the Atlantic Ocean, boasting a volcanic origin with a lunar-like landscape. The area features craters, hills, rocks, and more, offering an alien landscape to call home. The Escultura Villas are seen within this nearly desolate landscape, designed by Polo Architects.

The villas offer a combination of local craftsmanship with contemporary architecture. They are clad in sustainable materials that include African Kotibe wood, basalt, and cement. The structure’s modern exteriors fade into the scenery, blending with their natural surroundings. The interior is host to a similar natural palette. This complements the furnishings found in local markets. The 15-foot windows frame in ocean views on the inside, while a sheltered courtyard offers a private pool and an outdoor kitchen. This structure is anything but typical. It’s a showcase of style, brilliant design, and eye-catching attention to detail.

Take a closer look at this modern home in the images below and find out more about the villas from Polo Architecture. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more modern architecture coming soon.
