Nike is always working on new footwear and apparel for our wearing needs, diving deeper into the world of collaborations through the years. Recently Nike teased an impending collaboration with ‘Spongebob Squarepants,’ doing so with Kyrie Irving and Tina Charles. Today Kyrie is back, providing a closer look at the full forthcoming Spongebob Squarepants sneaker collaboration.
The range encompasses five distinct colorways which represent much of the show’s main cast. The silhouettes include two of Irving’s signature models while draped in stunning attention to detail and clever elements are hidden throughout. Five of the show’s key characters are reimagined atop the Kyrie 5 and Kyrie Low 2. These include iterations celebrating Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs. Each silhouette is seen in thematic colors, evoking the distinct style of each personality. Along the way, we find a faux-porous upper of the “Spongebob” to the shiny surface of the “Mr. Krabs,” while paying homage to the show through style.
The “Spongebob” and “Patrick” shoes both feature “hand-drawn” character names behind the tongue, each shoe rocking its own distinctive signature along the way. The Spongebob-themed pack of Irving‘s signature shoes is slated to arrive in August, and they are sure to move quickly.
