Bigger Is Better | Zaha Hadid Architects Complete World’s Tallest Atrium

The creative minds at Zaha Hadid Architects are back in the news. Bigger is better, and the firm has completed the world’s tallest atrium, Beijing’s Leeza SOHO. This stunning example of modern architecture is found in the Chinese capital’s southwestern region. The building serves as an anchor in the Fengtai business district. The 45-story building remains a brand new office space for small and medium-sized businesses. It also received LEED Gold certification by the US Green Building Council. The building is located between the city center and brand new Beijing Daxing International Airport.

The structure features two halves which have a unique rotating “pas de deux” construction. Both structures are connected via sky bridges across a variety of floors. This provides incredible panoramic views of the city while maintaining its sculpture-like design.

Among the sustainable features of the building are double-insulated glass curtain wall systems and more. Everything works in unison for efficient environmental control for each floor. There are also highly-efficient filters that remove air particulates via the air-handling system, external water-collection fixtures, and so much more. This structure isn’t your typical example of architecture. This is a brilliant blend of art and design.

Take a closer look at the stunning structure in the images below and find out more about the design from Zaha Hadid Architects immediately. In the meantime, stay tuned with The Culture Curators for more architecture and design coming soon.
