The good folks over at McLaren know all about speed. Today the iconic automaker is back, and they return with a celebration of the past. One of the most iconic sponsorship deals was that between Gulf Oil and McLaren, which stretched from Can-Am, Indycar, and Formula One racing. Despite a successful run that included 35 race wins, it was almost two decades before the brands worked together again. Now they are back, returning with a retro Elva to celebrate.
Today we get a look at McLaren’s limited-edition Elva Roadster with Gulf Oil. The special edition ride features the iconic Gulf Racing blue and orange color scheme. The vehicle is a nod to the past while taking a ride into the future. The livery is directly available to customers through its bespoke McLaren Special Operations.
The vehicle is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that pushes 804hp and 590lb-ft of torque. The initial 399-car production figure was slashed to 249, and then once again to 149. This makes the Elva quite an exclusive machine and one worth your time and attention.
