Genesis Tramaine Reveals “Break of Day” Exhibition

Brooklyn-born artist Genesis Tramaine is the focus of a new showcase at Almine Rech’s New York location. The exhibition is entitled “Break of Day,” a collection guided by the artist’s faith. The artist offers colorful portraiture work that is raw with emotion. Tremaine uses her religious upbringing to manifest itself in her art subconsciously. She combines traditional mediums with intriguing elements such as rainwater and salt.

As a math and art teacher at an NYC public school, she learned about humility while growing with her students. She blends these values in each work while aiming “to build for the next generation.” The artist stated: “I praise and thank God for being the artist who is put in position to create, and to shed that light.”

“Break of Day” is currently on display at Almine Rech until April 23. Take a look at a few images below and keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art news and art exhibitions coming very soon.
