Harlem’s very own Jim Jones is back. Today the wordsmith, mogul, and more returns with a brand new single. With the murder of George Floyd on our minds and protests continuing throughout the world, Mr. Jones is back with a new track called “The People.” Jimmy is the latest MC to voice his thoughts and feelings on the subject, following Conway the Machine, Ty Dolla $ign, Eric Bellinger, Papoose, and Run the Jewels.
The track finds the wordsmith hitting us with something potent and powerful, providing some meaningful and thoughtful words in the process. The track was produced by Harry Fraud, who laces Mr. Jones with an exceptional home to excel upon. He spoke about the Harry Fraud-produced track and stated: “Listen to this with your heart.” He continued, “Don’t just hear this.” The track is pushed by a slick and snappy combination of drums, which is seamlessly paired with some slick melodic elements. The combination provides Jim with a solid how to do his thing, and he goes deep.
