Skate x Celebrate | The Skateroom x Peanuts Celebrate 50th Anniversary Of Apollo 11

It’s been fifty years since the launch of the Apollo 11 and its groundbreaking missions. Back in the late 1960s, era-specific companies were aiming to capitalize on NASA’s trip to the moon. However, “Peanuts” was one that the space agency admitted for use, letting Snoopy take the lead of its spaceflight safety campaign.

In honor of 50 years, The Skateroom has partnered with Peanuts’ and Snoopy for a space-themed skate deck collection. Snoopy’s likeness was on everything from promotional posters, fashion pieces, and pins ahead of the mission’s success in the late ’60s. The specialized press releases were unique and eye-catching.

Now, to pay homage to the historic 1969 Apollo 11 space mission, The Skateroom and Peanuts ‘Apollo’ Collection created three Canadian maple wood decks. The decks feature different lunar scenes from the series. The first finds Snoopy on the surface of the satellite, dressed from head to toe in blue, space-inspired gear. The other two find Snoopy taking off on his first mission on top of a black and blue backdrop. The other is a portrait of the iconic character as he states: “All Systems Are Go!”

Take a closer look at this collection of skate decks below and head over to Skateroom’s website to pick up your favorite deck immediately. Stay tuned for more from The Skateroom coming soon.
