The Baja Beach House

We are fascinated by outstanding modern architecture. While we’ve seen some stunning examples, we’ve seen nothing quite like the Baja Beach House. The home is the brainchild of Walker Warner Architects, who created a serene seaside getaway south of the border. The beach house borrows elements from the area’s vernacular architecture and coastal landscape. Located on the peninsula where the desert meets the ocean, the home features exquisite attention to detail and exceptional quality.

The custom concrete walls mimic the color and texture of the surrounding sand, also protecting against storms and hurricanes. The boxy volumes are laid out to create a central courtyard often seen in traditional Mexican architecture. This serves to expand the interior to the outdoors. The home’s interior was designed by Ken Fulk, who uses weathered teak and antique bronze to replicate the home’s natural aesthetic. Bright furnishings and colorful tiles offer a contemporary nod and a contrast of color. The living space flows to an oceanfront terrace where an infinity pool, outdoor kitchen, and a sand bar made from an old shipwreck provide unrivaled views of the Pacific.

Take a closer look at this beautiful modern home in the images below and find out more about the dwelling from Walker Warner Architects. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding modern architecture coming very soon.
