Stunning Spirits! Glenfiddich Unveils “Grande Couronne” Single Malt Whiskey

We love a good whiskey, and the good folks over at Glenfiddich are known for crafting some exceptional blends. Today the imprint is back with something new, announcing the latest addition to its Grand Series, the Grande Couronne. This interesting blend was aged for 26 years in American and European oak casks at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. They were then finished off in French Cognac casks for two additional years.

Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman spoke about the new blend. He commented: “The Grand Series perfectly encapsulates Glenfiddich’s spirit of innovation and our ability to experiment with aged liquid and intriguing finishes; Grande Couronne is the latest edition to exemplify that approach. It is the only Glenfiddich single malt that has matured in American and European oak casks and is finished in rare French Cognac casks for an unusually lengthy finish time of two years, which adds extra layers of sweet toasted oak and velvety aromas of café crème, brown sugar, and soft spice.”

The whiskey has already been awarded a trophy medal at the 2021 International Spirits Challenge Design & Packaging Awards. The bottle is slated to arrive at Glenfiddich stockists soon. While we patiently await its arrival, be sure to check back with The Culture Curators for more from the food & drink menu coming soon.
