The good folks over at DJI are back, and they return to introduce the Matrice 30 enterprise drone. The drone is the company’s top-of-the-line device, and it’s capable of withstanding gale-force winds and flying up to heights of 7000 meters while enduring weather conditions between -20 and 50 degrees Celsius. The Matrice 30 also includes a robust RC Plus controller with a reworked user interface for an all-knew flight control experience.
Christina Zhang, senior director of corporate strategy at DJI, spoke about the new drone and its goals. Zhang stated: “We are proud to deliver the next generation of aerial tools that will save lives and bring work to new heights, with a 360-degree product solution suite for a variety of fields such as energy inspection, emergency rescue missions, environmental protection, and the digitization and preservation of cultural heritage.”
When paired with the DJI Dock drone station, the M30 can be programmed for repeatable and automated drone flights for worksite monitoring, boasting an operational radius of 7km. The drone features a 200x hybrid zoom camera for detailed shots, a thermal camera that reveals heat sources, and a wide camera capable of generating 8k photos and 4K video at 30 frames-per-second.
But wait, there’s more. There Is also a low-light fpv camera for night-time flyovers and a laser rangefinder. Flight time is estimated at 41 minutes, while the hot-swap batteries can charge from 20% to 90% in 30 minutes. The M30 is larger than the popular compact options, such as the Mavic 3, but still small enough to fit into a backpack.
