A First Look | Marvel’s First Official Look at ‘Black Widow’

Every year around this time we get a look at some of the biggest movies, shows, series’ and more that are slated to be released. It’s San Diego Comic-Con, and as usual, we’re getting a look at the future of film. The good folks over at Marvel are back in the news, taking to the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con to reveal a slew of new movies, officially confirming details surrounding its standalone Black Widow film.

The film is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2020, and fans were given an official look at the highly-anticipated movie. Marvel shared some video footage, though it hasn’t made it to the interwebs just yet. Marvel also shared some concept art which showcases both Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson, and the film’s villain Taskmaster. For those of you who don’t know, Taskmaster is able to instantly replicate any physical action he sees, which makes him quite a formidable force.

Marvel didn’t release too much more about the film, though we do know Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland, the first solo woman director in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
