A Look Inside | The Sagamine House

Our love for modern architecture is rather apparent. There is something inspiring about each new design we see, and today we take a look at a stunning structure from Tomoaki Uno Architects. The Sagamine House is located on the outskirts of Nagakute, Japan. The dwelling features a brutalist approach, which contrasts its rural surroundings. The old residential area offers a unique space for the home, which is composed of three box-like volumes.

The two larger boxes house the main living areas, communal spaces, and bedrooms. The central unit connects the home and includes the kitchen and dining room. The interior also features a brutalist aesthetic, keeping things minimal throughout. The concrete facade is left exposed through the home, contrasted by stunning white oak on the floors, cabinets, and stairs. This helps to add an undeniable warmth to the home, keeping things inviting and welcoming. You will also notice wood trim surrounding the east-facing windows, framing the scenery flawlessly.

Take a look at this exceptional modern home in the images below and find out more about the Sagamine House from Tomoaki Uno Architects immediately. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more outstanding examples of architecture and design coming soon.
