Talk about a busy Summer; no one has been working quite as hard as KAWS. The artist has taken his show on the road, making stops all over the globe with giant iterations of his iconic ‘Companions’. He’s back in the news, head across the pond for a special showcase of new works. KAWS is heading back to London. The artist recently announced an exhibition of new works, including sculptures and paintings. Soon these new works will be heading to London next month.
Dubbed “BLACKOUT,” the exhibition was teased by the artist, who detailed the dates first. He then took to social media to offer a further tease of what fans can expect from the exhibition. In his most recent post, KAWS shows a pair of blue and grey BFF Companion figures hugging one another. There Is also a color-blocked painting featuring 3D-like black zig-zags that are seen overlying bold patterns. KAWS continues to announce that “BLACKOUT” will take place at the Skarstedt Gallery in London. The Skarstedt Gallery previously hosted the artist in its New York residency.
“BLACKOUT” is slated to be on display from October 1 through to November 9. If you are in London or plan on being in the city for those dates, this will undoubtedly be something to take in.
