The popularity of crew cab pickup trucks has exploded over the past few years. They’ve become nearly as common as the traditional two-door trucks. However, when it comes to finding a vintage crew cab, things can be a bit tricky and more complicated than one would imagine. The good folks over at Rtech Fabrications decided to create one, recently unveiling the Rtech Fabrications Ponderosa Truck. This beautiful, big, and eye-catching machine is a 1966 Chevrolet K30 four-door, which was never actually made by the company.
The completely custom-built body rides on a 1972 C30 dually chassis. The truck is eight feet tall and twenty feet long, boasting an ash-lined bed for good measure. This massive machine comes powered by a 550-horsepower Cummins diesel, while loaded with unique attention to detail inside and out. The vehicle boasts a 12,000-pound Warn winch under the front bumper and Nitto tires paired with Dana axles. The weight of the machine is supported by a Bilstein suspension, while the inside is pure vintage GM. The interior boasts period-correct vinyl seating surfaces and as much sheet metal and chrome as the exterior.
