Built For Art | The Mallard Lake House

We’ve seen beautiful, modern architecture in all shapes, sizes, and forms. Today we get a look at a contemporary structure known as the Mallard Lake House. Vuko Tashkovich created the dwelling, inspired and influenced by the architecture of I.M. Pei. The home was designed for the Director of Paintings & Sculpture Department at the Museum of Modern Art. The modernist design boasts 9,300 square feet.

Throughout it boasts clean geometric shapes that play perfectly with the white palette. It’s interior also acts as a personal gallery for the owner’s impressive collection of artwork. There are five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, all organized around a central courtyard. The structure comes with entertaining spaces that expand to a bluestone terrace. The master suite boasts direct access to the indoor/outdoor saltwater pool and spa. Throughout the home, floor-to-ceiling glazing affords stunning views of the 3.5-acre property. The exterior has a park-like charm that is undeniable and fitting for the home itself. While the dwelling was created to house beautiful works of art, the structure itself is an impeccable work of art.
