Fresh & Functional | The 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

Volkswagen has always had its own way of doing things. Their journey into the SUV market has been no different. That being said, it should be no surprise that we’re switching things up again. The Volkswagen Atlas will be available in a new variant, The 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport. The design team at VW took the Atlas styling and reimagined it with a more coupe-like form.

The Cross Sport is 2.8 inches shorter and 2.3 inches lower than the standard Atlas. An all-new front end helps separate the two models as well. A concept inspired look is achieved with a refined three-bar grille, sleek lights, and a new front bumper with an updated hood design. This isn’t just a new box with the same toys inside, though.

Numerous interior upgrades make this an experience all its own. An updated steering wheel, improved controls, available stitching accents, options for wireless charging, a Fender 12-speaker audio system, and a Volkswagen digital cockpit will all be available on the SEL, and SEL Premium trim levels. The updated hood is hiding some performance differences, as well.

The Cross Sport will launch with two engine options: a 276-hp V6 and a 235-hp four-cylinder turbo. Both models will be available with VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. The new Volkswagen CrossFit roll out is set for Spring 2020. Keep an eye on our Auto section for any details as they emerge.
