Game Time! Play the ‘Resident Evil 2’ Remake In VR

Two years after its initial release, fans can now play Resident Evil 2 in virtual reality. Thanks to a new mod from “praydog,” we can enjoy both the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes as intense first-person shooters. On top of that, the mod allows full motion controls and even 3D collision with certain melee weapons. This means that as fans, we can hack and slack our way through the legions of zombies set out to destroy the world.

To make the VR experience seamless, you’ll also be able to watch all the games’ cutscenes in 3D through your headset. Players should note that some scenes may break because you will only be able to see things originally unintended to be in the frame. For fans of the Resident Evil franchise, this is a moment we’ve all been waiting for.

For those interested, check out the 10-minute clip of the VR gameplay for the Resident Evil 2 remake below. If you are interested in trying it out for yourself, head over to GitHub to download the necessary assets. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more gaming and tech news coming very soon. Enjoy!
