Luxurious x Lavish Living | The Winnwood House

Modern architecture often blends a sleek, minimal vibe for the urban life. While we’ve seen outstanding contemporary designs in rural settings, many of them seem out of place. The Winnwood House breaks the trend, situated in such a way to be enveloped by the dense landscape. The modern dwelling immerses itself in its natural setting beautifully, located just outside of Dallas. The home is adjacent to a conservation project funded by the Texas Parks & Wildlife and the US Dept. of Interior.

The black plaster exterior is understated and unassuming. The exterior comes planted with climbing Boston Ivy. Over time the facade will eventually be consumed in vines, featuring tying it to its environment. The interior has a definite modern aesthetic with a bright, white interior and an airy atmosphere. Large voids break up the monochromatic palette, presenting views of the scenery around the home. The home also comes with a geothermal heat pump, roof-mounted solar array, and a rainwater harvesting system. These come together for an energy-positive living space, also earning it a LEED Platinum certification.
