Nick Doyle Opens “Ruin” At Perrotin Paris

After showcasing his “Everything Is Fine” exhibition at Perrotin Seoul, Nick Doyle is making his debut in Paris. The artist has opened a new exhibition entitled “Ruin.” The California-born, New York-based artist, takes a look at American consumerism, reflecting a washed-out materialistic society in the process.

Professor and critic Mathieu Buard spoke about the exhibition and its work. He stated: “Doyle depicts the agonies and impasses of a society in ruins,” adding “where forsaken artifacts and décor coexist in a mercantile prosody. His works parody advertising signs, the target or the shooter.” The exhibition features a broken pencil, a stained shirt, gallons of milk, and more, paired with scenes of Doyles signature pastiche, denim, another symbolic material. In the past, the artist has stated that his exploration is rooted in “what it means to be an American.”

The new “Ruin” exhibition is on view at Perrotin Paris now until May 28th. Take a look at a few select pieces from the exhibit in the images and learn more from Perrotin Paris right now. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more art exhibitions and art news coming very soon.
