Located in the Charente-Maritime region of France, 2m26 created a unique modern dwelling. Dubbed La Petite Maison, the guesthouse is situated on a rural property in the countryside. The home is surrounded by rolling hills and wooded fields, taking full advantage of the pristine scenery. The structure is host to that immerse the 36-square-meter interior in the landscape. This helps to create a more spacious aesthetic, opening up the space to the outdoors.
The flexible design is also host to a series of shutters to close off living spaces from the wind and sun. The minimalist aesthetic is the result of locally-sourced Douglas fir. This material is used in the frame and the facade, as well as in the custom furniture also designed by the studio.
