The Icelandic landscape is a conglomeration of glacial river and volcanic mountains. While we generally wouldn’t expect to see a beautiful example of modern architecture in this type of terrain, today we do. Today we get a look at a beautiful home by the name of the Langitangi Country House. Krads created this beautiful modern structure. The house enhances the terrain with a brutalist design, providing a unique retreat in the harsh setting.
The summerhouse is made up of raw concrete blocks which form two volumes under a single roof. The home is spread horizontally along the site, sinking into the contours of the land in the process. The unique topography seems to hide the home, while its rough exterior integrates with the natural surroundings.
The interior of the most features a minimalistic aesthetic. The linear layout comes with expansive glazing which maximizes the views throughout the home. These unrivaled views stretch across the water and to the mountains in the distance. The home is a stunning contrast to its natural surroundings, though adding a charming element that is both eye-catching and elegant.
