Technology has also helped evolve the world of cameras. Blackmagic is back with something new. The company is upgrading the resolution capabilities of its Pocket Cinema Camera. Today we get our first look at Blackmagic’s pocket cinema camera 6K, which can shoot in 6144 x 3456 resolution.
The camera features a Super 35, 6K HDR image sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range. The 6K cinema camera also boasts EF and MFT lens mount compatibility. If that wasn’t enought, the 25600 ISO for low light shooting is a nice touch. The camera body itself comes crafted from a lightweight and durable carbon fiber polycarbonate composite. The design also features SD/UHS-II/CFast compatibility, Blackmagic RAW support. There is a built-in 5″ touchscreen, and full-size HDMI too.
Other features include XLR input with 48V phantom power and USB-C support for recording to external storage. The camera also boasts 21.2MP still support and charging capability via USB-C. Blackmagic’s pocket cinema camera is certainly a game-changer for Blackmagic and one camera we’re intrigued to try for ourselves.
