Joshua Vides Unveils “COMMERCIAL BREAK”

Following his collaborative capsule with Converse, Joshua Vides is back at it once again. The artist is gearing up for his first solo exhibition in Japan titled “Commercial Break.” Mr. Vides is known for his black-and-white paint marker works. However, “Commercial Break” marks a shift and evolution in his pop-art aesthetic.

The exhibition will feature mounted sculptures, limited-edition silkscreens, and canvases in full color. The “break” from his traditional designs is a literal and metaphorical intermission between his projects. Alongside the exhibition, the artist will drop an assortment of collectibles. The goods include everything from rugs to tees and more.

The apparel will also feature skateboard decks and a collaborative range with Japan’s heritage streetwear brand WTAPS. Vides is also collaborating with KITH TREATS in Miyashita Park, who will be serving coffee-flavored ice cream made from beans sourced by the artist himself. “Commercial Break” will be displayed from April 29th to May 15th at the SAI venue in RAYARD MIYASHITA PARK. The WTAPS collaboration will be available during the exhibition and online on Joshua Vides’ website.

Take a closer look at a few selections from the exhibition below and look for more from Joshua Vides coming soon. In the meantime, keep it locked with The Culture Curators for more from the world of art coming very soon.
