Luxury Additions! The Topless House

In case you couldn’t tell, we at The Culture Curators appreciate outstanding architecture. Today we take a look inside a beautiful modern structure located on a hillside on the coast of France. Dubbed the Topless House, the dwelling replaces the ruins of a former veranda. The addition is an extension of a vacation home that overlooks the Atlantic.

The contemporary design boasts a removable roof that retracts to expose the interior to the sky, bathing the interior in natural sunlight. When open the roof cantilevers towards the ocean levitating over the terrace. Glazed doors clad the exterior, immersing the room in stunning views of the coast while expanding the indoors to the outside. Most of the volume is made to be transparent, while an outdoor shower is fitted with a sandblasted glass door, offering privacy after a day on the ocean.
