In case you didn’t know, the Nomad team is passionate about the outdoors. While we’re familiar with Nomad thanks to their range of accessories, phone cases, charging cables, and much more, they return to make a change. Nomad is back in the news as the word comes down that Nomad has gone Climate Neutral. Nomad is working with Climate Neutral, an independent nonprofit organization, to measure, reduce, and offset all of their carbon emissions.
This arrives after the word came down in August that 100% of the brand’s shipments would be 100% carbon neutral. Carbon-neutral shipping was just the start, as the company announced a pledge to be fully carbon neutral company by 2020. The company spoke about the move in a blog post. They stated: “This means that every emission caused by our business, whether it is employee travel or energy used to create new products, will be offset. We are accomplishing this as members of Climate Neutral, an independent nonprofit organization created for companies like us to measure our environmental impact and commit to achieving net-zero carbon emissions. As of this writing, 36 other brands have taken the pledge towards net-zero emissions.”
Going Climate Neutral!
The blog post goes on to add, “Climate Neutral will help us to measure, reduce, and offset our carbon emissions.” Nomad went on to state: “This three-step process will bring us to net-zero carbon emissions by 2020. We’ll work to reduce the amount of carbon we’re responsible for emitting, then zero out the rest by purchasing carbon offsets. Carbon offsets are investment projects that either prevent carbon from being emitted, like renewable energy or remove carbon from the atmosphere, like planting trees and protecting forests.”
Nomad is certainly making the right changes, which will hopefully inspire more to follow suit. Not only is Nomad working to offset their emissions, but they are reducing their impact wherever possible. Starting in 2020, we will see the Climate Neutral logo on Nomad packaging. This denotes that they are a participating member in the program.
