Powered Up | Oklo Aurora Advanced Fission Clean Energy Plant

Generally speaking, when we see modern architecture, it’s stunning contemporary homes and dwellings. Today we take a look at a unique structure, the Oklo Aurora Advanced Fission Clean Energy Plant. This unique design houses a fission battery and is designed to provide communities with dependable, clean power. It’s metal fuel source is capable of powering the plant for decades at a time, producing heat that is carried to an exchanger that converts it into electricity.

Thanks to its unique design, the plant is company and the fuel stored underground, and doesn’t require water for cooling. The exterior of the structure features a sloped roof ideal for a number of different climates. It’s also covered in solar panels that help provide power to the communal front area. While still a concept, Oklo is preparing to submit its first license application. This means this could very well become a real life application very soon.
