Rustic & Rural | This Is The Red Hill Farm House

When we think of modern architecture, we think urban dwellings. We don’t generally picture modern structures located in rural settings, but that all changes today. Situated amongst green, grassy pastures that are occupied by horses and cattle is a beautiful example of modern architecture. This stunning structure is known as the Red Hill Farm House and its far from your typical farmhouse.

The home takes on a low ranch-style profile, music like the surrounded area’s typography, complementing the landscape in the process. The house is clad in black timber that gives off a minimalist aesthetic. The structure is comprised of three pavilions that are arranged in a U-shape. This provides space for a central courtyard, while the outdoor space leads into the main living area, introducing modern features such as steel, polished concrete, and cool gray hues.

The open concept seems to expand outdoors thanks to the floor-to-ceiling glazing, which also provides stunning views of the farmland, as well as the Mornington Peninsula coastline in the distance. The location is remarkable, but the design certainly adds to the allure and charm.
