The Nominees Are… | Here Are The 71st Emmy Awards Nominations

The Television Academy is back, and they have announced the nominees for the 71st Annual Emmy Awards. As expected, HBO’s hit show, Game of Thrones leads the way, receiving a record-breaking 32 nominations. Game of Thrones wasn’t the only HBO show to rack up several nominations, as Chernobyl was honored with 19 nominations.

NBC’s Saturday Night Live was close behind with 18 while Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us received 16. Elsewhere, Beyoncé’s own Netflix special, Homecoming landed six nominations, including Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Music Direction. When They See Us actor Jharrel Jerome earned his first nomination, while Black-ish received zero nominations for the first time in the program’s five-year history.

In terms of networks, HBO led the way with a total of 137 nominations, while Netflix racked up 117 and NBC landed 58.
