Yes, we have a soft spot for modern architecture. Why? Well, we all have an idea of what our dream house includes. Well, modern architecture has a way of evolving the concept of our dream home thanks to new design cues and unique details. Today we get a look at a home dubbed the Hawthorn House, which will have you rethinking your dream home design as well. This beautiful home sits in the suburbs of Melbourne, providing a unique design while enveloped in expansive landscapes.
The home comes neighbored by three mature trees, though the star of the show is the design itself. The design comes wrapped in a thick concrete shell. This unique contrast to the natural surroundings provides a beautiful place for the family to rest their head. The shell was built on-site using rough-hewn Oregon timber, boasting a facade with a unique texture. Those boards were then repurposed as fencing around the property.
The interior boasts exposed concrete for a minimalist aesthetic throughout. The addition of Blackbutt in the ceiling and cabinets add a nice dose of contrast, keeping things modern and sleek throughout the home. The massive glazing adds a warm sense to the home, also supplying outstanding vistas of the surrounding area. This stunning home is nothing short of impressive, offering a modern aesthetic and monolithic living spaces.
