Enjoy The View | The Maullin Lodge

Remarkable architecture is everywhere. Today we take a look at a home that neighbors the forest of Southern Chile. The Maullin Lodge is a modern translation of the traditional designs of the area. The dwelling is clad in recycled timber shingles, taking on a simple shape in the process. The gabled form has the charm of a classic Southern home. While the metal roof fits flawlessly with the aesthetics. There are oversized eaves that create a terrace overlooking the native vegetation around the home.

The interior features an open play, dominated by the living spaces. In these communal areas, details like timber beam ceilings hover above. Concrete floors provide a nice contrast and a modern aesthetic. The northern facade of the home features an abundance of glazing that floods the room with natural light. Windows inserted into the pitch of the roof lets in light from above.

The home, divided by internal partitions lined in wood planks, features a clean and modern approach. The walls of floor-to-ceiling glass afford views of the rural landscape from the ground floor to the mezzanine above. The home is beautiful and brilliant. A design worth your time and attention.
