It’s true; we are fascinated by modern architecture. Today we get a look at a beautiful example known as the Modern Marfa Compound. This isn’t your typical compound, playing off of a minimalist aesthetic while offering unique design elements throughout. The home is located in the Texas art hub, comprised of two individual volumes that were designed by different architects, Rael San Fratello, and DUST.
The structure’s exterior features exposed Adobe bricks, aluminum windows, and concrete floors, while the first building includes a chef’s kitchen and spacious living space that expands to the outside. The second building is host to a primary bedroom, bathroom, and studio. Both volumes share a private garden and mountain views, while a sculptural garden adds a nice touch to the minimalist design. Both structures are powered by solar panels, sitting seamlessly on four acres of land.
While this isn’t your typical example of modern architecture, it’s undoubtedly an impressive one.
